VTOS Hotel Supervision
The advanced training programme, VTOS Hotel Supervision, is to develop hotel supervision skills according to VTOS standards and is designed for individuals currently in mid-level management positions at hotels (supervisors, shift leaders, team leaders, department heads/assistants, etc.). It is also suitable for experienced employees who wish to enhance their management and supervisory skills in the hotel, restaurant, resort and other lodging businesses.
The training programme is designed based on the Vietnam Tourism Occupational Skills Standards (VTOS) and references the ASEAN Tourism Occupational Standards, as well as training programmes from the EU Project for Vietnam Human resource Development in Tourism and the Swiss tourism for Sustainable Development Project (SSTP). The programme content features a practical approach tailored to the competency requirements for hotel supervisors and managers.
The course will be conducted directly at hotels based on the business’s request.
The course objectives | Upon completion of the course, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of the roles of supervisors and managers; they will recognize tasks involved in planning, organizing work, etc. Participants will be equipped with effective communication skills, goal setting with SMART objectives, application of management methods and motivation techniques for employees, as well as problem-solving in managerial roles. Participants will be able to perform internal customer care, delegate tasks, provide training and offer corrective and constructive feedback corresponding to the developmental stages of employees. By participating in this course, participants will gain the necessary knowledge, management skills and professional work attitudes required to serve colleagues proficiently throughout their service journey. |

Target learners | Middle-level management officials in hotels, resorts or similar establishments and those in need including: Supervisors, shift leaders, department heads of operational departments; Managers, assistant managers of operational departments; Employees with at least 6 months of experience and a desire to enhance their competencies, accumulate certifications for promotion opportunities and work in higher-level management positions; Individuals in need of improving supervision skills in the tourism and hotel industry. |

Training method | Direct training at the enterprise. Training focused on developing the capabilities of learners. Emphasis on practicing skills, role-playing and activities to develop the strategic thinking skills of managers, closely linked to the realistic, diverse and flexible needs of hotels. |

Final assessment and evaluation | Pre-course assessment: Conduct a training needs assessment and evaluate supervisory and management competencies.
