The Diploma in Aviation and Travel Operations (DATO) is conducted in collaboration between Pegasus International College and SISH Institute (Singapore), leading students to a qualification awarded by SISH.
This programme is designed to prepare students for their careers in the rapidly growing aviation and travel industry. It’s an excellent opportunity for young people who aspire to work in travel and aviation services, airport check-in and ground services, air traffic control and airport service operations to become a part of the new workforce generation.
The training programme is conducted entirely in English and follows international aviation service standards. Its aim is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of aviation and travel service operations and equip them with the necessary professional competencies to cater to the growing demand for high quality work force in the field of travel, aviation and airport services, both at the operational and managerial levels.
The course also offers a multicultural learning environment and work experience with industry professionals from Singapore and other countries, thereby developing an international perspective for students. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: Demonstrate relevant operational principles in various types of aviation and travel organizations. Organize information for further application or dissemination. Recall real-world problems drawn from the aviation and travel industry by identifying central issues and listing solutions. Demonstrative attainment of prescribed goals through organizing, motivating, coordinating and collaborating with peers.

Training Approach | The curriculum and pedagogy of the course focus on the development of learners’ skills and competencies so that they can transfer gained knowledge and learned skills into their performance at the workplace. The method of teaching consists of multiple delivery dimensions such as classroom lectures, group discussions, case study, career preparation workshops, role-plays, individual and group tutorials, presentations and assessments. Tutorials, both individual and in groups are an essential channel for developing each student’s direction. |

To graduate and achieve the Diploma, students need to meet the following requirements:
- Attend a minimum of 90% of the contact hours for each module.
- Attend all assessments and complete the Industrial attachment requirements.
- Adhere to legal and disciplinary regulations during the course.
- Comply with the rules and regulations of the organization in which the student interns during the industrial attachment.
Any student who drops out of the industrial attachment pre-maturely without valid reasons or who is terminated by the organization on disciplinary grounds would be deemed to have failed the entire course and will not be able to graduate from the programme.
