Certificate in Front Office
Front desk personnel are crucial parts of a business’ success, serving as the front facing ambassador of the hotel. As the bridge between guests and other hotel departments, front desk staff symbolize the hotel’s quality of service, bringing customers the best possible experience during their stay.
Recognizing this importance, Pegasus International College has developed a series of front desk training programmes, ranging from basic to advanced levels. These courses aim to equip students with the ability to accurately and professionally perform reception and guest service procedures in hotel front desk departments, resorts and other accommodation facilities, according to national and regional professional standards.
The programme is structured into three levels: Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. All three levels share the same format which is based on the Vietnam Tourism Occupational Standards (VTOS), ASEAN Tourism Occupational Standards, and the training framework of Australia. The curriculum is specifically tailored to provide learners with the latest, most in-demand skillsets of Front Office personnel with up to 70% practical training time. The course content includes:
Level 1: Focuses on core competencies required in the guest service cycle which includes , including guest check-in, accommodation and check-out.
Level 2: In addition to the modules covered in Level 1, students will further develop skills required for room reservations, welcoming guests upon arrival and luggage services. Soft skills and specialised English are also integrated at this level.
Level 3: In addition to the modules covered in Level 2, students will acquire advanced competencies such as night auditing, customer service management and operating online room reservation systems.
On top of classroom instructions and practical training at the school, students will have the opportunity to complete a 2-3 month internship programme to gain real world hands-on experience in their chosen field.
The “Front Office Service” certificate is essential for students who aspire to work in the tourism, hotel and restaurant industries. This certificate is recommended for students in different majors who wish to acquire additional work-related skills.
