1. INTRODUCTION

Pegasus International College offers the Diploma in Hotel Management, based entirely on the Australian Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management. This gives students the opportunity to access the advanced training program at a reasonable cost. The program is delivered in 2.5 years, including a 3-month internship. The internship will help students put into practice the necessary knowledge and skills to secure higher positions in the most demanding service industry.

The first year of the Diploma in Hotel Management is designated as Operational studies and the second and third year are designated as Management studies.

In the first year, students will study essential core units as well as practical units related to the divisions within a hotel. At the end of this period, students will undertake a 12-week internship in a 4 or 5-star hotel or resort to consolidate the learning. In the second and third year, students will develop knowledge and skills in the area of supervision and then business planning, financial operations, managing human resources, marketing strategies, and property management.

  • Students can apply to receive the Australian Advanced Diploma through a process of RPL or “Recognition of Prior Learning”. Conditions apply and requires payment of additional fees

Qualification
  • Diploma of Hotel Management, issued by Pegasus International College, recognized nationally. It is approved for delivery by MOLISA, the Vietnam ministry providing oversight of vocational education
Internship
  • The internship at a 4 or 5 star rated hotel or resort is undertaken upon completion of the course. Interns may be paid but is not guaranteed. The College will match the most suitable internship against the results, skills and interests of the student. Overseas internships may be possible but not guaranteed. Visa conditions apply.
Scholarship
  • Scholarships are available for suitable candidates. Potential students who are seeking a scholarship need to complete the scholarship application form. The scholarship will be determined based on academic merit and financial hardship. An interview will apply to all candidates.
Further study pathway
  • Upon graduation with the Diploma in Hotel Management and GPA greater than 2.8, and an English level equivalent to IELTS 5.0, students can apply to Pegasus to receive an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management through Recognition of Prior Learning. Students will bear a fee to receive this additional diploma. This diploma is issued by our College in Australia, and on the diploma, it will clearly state that the course is delivered and assessed in Vietnamese.
  • Students with Australian qualifications and with the required English proficiency can apply for further study at universities in Australia and in other countries. This gives students opportunities to study or work abroad.

3. UNITS OF STUDY

There are 33 units in this program. To receive an Associate's degree, students need to fully complete these subjects. In addition, students also need to complete 6 compulsory subjects in accordance with Vietnamese regulations, including: Basic English, Informatics, Law, Defense Education, Political Education, and Physical Education. . In addition, students will be taught functional English in this program.

  • Upon graduation with the Diploma of Hotel Management with the lowest GPA of 2.8 [highest 4.0] and an English level equivalent to IELTS 5.0, students can apply to Pegasus to get an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management through Recognition of Prior Learning. Students will bear a fee to receive this additional diploma. This diploma is issued by our College in Australia, and on the diploma, it clearly states that the course is taught and tested in Vietnamese.
  • Students with this qualification and with the required English proficiency can apply for further study at universities in Australia and in other countries. This gives students opportunities to study or work abroad.
  • Students wish to receive this respective Australian Degree must meet all course requirements as well as pay full tuition fees. In addition, the fee required for an Australian Degree is 48,110,000 VND.

4. What are the opportunities for internships and jobs?

  • Pegasus will arrange internships for all students with good academic achievements at 4-5 star hotels in Da Nang and Hoi An.
  • Pegasus will also support job placement for students. However, they also have to go through a round of interviews and probation with employers

5. Is this program suitable for those who want to study cooking?
